These images were shot for Millwall Community Trust. Millwall are a controversial team whose reputation preceeds them - they have a couple of slogans, ‘No One likes Us, We Don’t Care’ and ‘Milwall (Enough Said)’. In the 1980s they had a reputation as one of the most severe groups of hooligans and the reputation has stuck, but times are changing and they aren’t the Millwall of old. The club is reflective of the community it serves in South London. They historically have strong connections with the dockers - which is where Millwall’s story began and they still retain that (South) East London edge.
