Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27/07/26

This Privacy Policy explains how Adam Isfendiyar ("I", "me", "my") collects, uses, and protects information when you visit adamisfendiyar.com (the "Site"), including when you make a purchase, submit an enquiry, or otherwise interact with it.

I'm the data controller for the purposes of UK GDPR.

1. What Information I Collect

Information you give me directly:

  • Name, email address, and message content when you submit a contact/enquiry form

  • Email address (and name, if given) when you sign up to my newsletter

  • Name, delivery address, email, and payment details when you purchase a print

  • Any details you provide when enquiring about licensing, commissions, or collaboration

Information collected automatically:

  • Standard analytics data via Squarespace (e.g. pages visited, referral source, device/browser type, approximate location from IP address)

  • Cookies used for site functionality, analytics, and (if applicable) marketing — see Section 5

I do not collect special category data (e.g. health, biometric data) through this Site.

2. How I Use Your Information

I use the information collected to:

  • Respond to enquiries and correspondence

  • Process, fulfil, and ship print orders, and handle any related customer service (returns, damage claims)

  • Draft and manage licensing agreements where relevant

  • Understand how visitors use the Site, to improve content and navigation

  • Meet legal and accounting obligations (e.g. retaining order records for tax purposes)

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Under UK GDPR, I rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract — to process and fulfil print orders or licensing agreements

  • Legitimate interests — to respond to enquiries and understand Site usage

  • Consent — for non-essential cookies and any optional marketing communications (see Sections 5–6)

  • Legal obligation — to retain financial records as required by law

4. Who I Share Information With

I don't sell your data. Information may be shared with:

  • Squarespace (my website host and, where applicable, e-commerce/payment processor), which processes data on my behalf under its own privacy policy

  • [NEWSLETTER PROVIDER], which stores and sends newsletter emails on my behalf

  • Payment processors used at checkout (e.g. Stripe, PayPal — whichever Squarespace has configured), who handle your payment details directly; I don't store full card details myself

  • Shipping/courier providers, to deliver print orders

  • Third parties where required by law

5. Cookies

This Site, via Squarespace, uses cookies for core functionality, analytics, and (if enabled) marketing purposes. You can control cookie preferences through the cookie banner shown on your first visit, and through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect Site functionality (e.g. checkout).

6. Newsletter & Marketing Communications

If you sign up to my newsletter, I store your email address (and name, if given) in order to send you updates about my work, including Home Game.

  • I only add you to the newsletter with your consent, given at the point of sign-up.

  • Your email is stored using [NEWSLETTER PROVIDER, e.g. Squarespace Email Campaigns / Mailchimp], which processes it on my behalf under its own privacy policy.

  • Every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. You can opt out at any time, and I'll stop sending you emails as soon as this is processed.

  • I don't share your email address with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

7. Data Retention

I retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes it was collected — e.g. order and financial records are kept as long as legally required for accounting/tax purposes; newsletter emails are retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion; enquiry correspondence is retained only as long as relevant.

8. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data I hold about you

  • Request correction of inaccurate data

  • Request deletion of your data (where I'm not legally required to retain it)

  • Object to or restrict certain processing

  • Request a copy of your data in a portable format

  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent

  • Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

To exercise any of these rights, contact me using the details in Section 10.

9. International Transfers

Squarespace and some third-party providers may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where this happens, it's covered by their own safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses) as set out in their respective privacy policies.

10. Contact
